Hamilton Girl Rose Of Tralee

"The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, June 20. Miss Laraine Stollery, aged 18, a telephone operator, of Hamilton has been judged winner of the Rose of Tralee contest Miss Stollery won the Auckland section of the contest two weeks ago and on Sunday was selected from three finalists. The other finalists, were Miss Margaret O’Malley, of Christchurch, winner of the South Island section, and Mjss Elizabeth Gildea, of Palmerston North, winner of the Wellington section. First prize is a world trip during which Miss Stollery will represent New Zealand at a Rose of Tralee contest in Kerry, Ireland. She will leave on July 13.

In Rome she will have an audience with Pope Paul.
