U.S. Racing Arranged fN.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The New Zealand rowing eight which would compete In the world championships in September should be more powerful than the crew that was undefeated in Australia last year, said Mr R. Porter, the eight’s coach, yesterday. Mr Porter said he was pleased with the way the crew was progressing and all members were very fit. “This is a heavy crew,” he said, "as the average weight is 13st 121 b. It is heavier and, I believe, more powerful than the crew that went to Australia.” Mr Porter said it was now definite that the eight would compete at Philadelphia on August 20 on its way to the world championships at Bled, Jugoslavia.
