Obituary MRS M. J. McADAM
Mrs Mary Jane McAdam died recently at her home, “Glenturret,” Domett, at the age of 83. She was bom in Scotland and came to New Zealand in 1906. She married Mr John McAdam and they managed “Greta Paddocks” stud farm for six years. Later they managed Stoneyhurst Station for two yeans while Mr McAdam’s brother visited Scotland. In 1913 Mr and Mrs McAdam bought their farm at Domett and after her husband’s death in 1935 she successfully earned on at the farm until her death. Her Corriedale wool bought top price at a Christchurch sale in 1946.
She belonged to many organisations in her district, including church' and women’s groups. She is survived by two sons and one daughter. Her other daughter has predeceased her.
