UNREST IN HUE

Government In Control (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) HUE (South Vietnam), June 19. Government troops virtually completed their take-over of this northern Buddhist stronghold today by advancing without resistance on the last remaining area of the city still in rebel hands. One company of tough paratroopers in armoured troop carriers moved slowly up the half-mile-long road leading up a hill to the large Tu Dam pagoda early this morning. As they advanced towards the pagoda they removed about 50 Buddhist altars placed in the middle of the street as a gesture of defiance to the Saigon Government. The pagoda itself was deserted, its monks having fled after government troops began arriving in the city in the middle of last week to end anarchy.
