Duties: To join a laboratory group working in the field of industrial chemical research and service, including problems in plastics, waters and corrosion. The Department of Internal Affairs has vacancies in the Ministry of Civil Defence for three Training Officers with headquarters at Auckland, Palmerston North, and Christchurch. Salary up to £l2lO p.a. according to qualifications and experience. The appointees will be responsible to their respective Regional Commissioners of Civil Defence for the preparation and conduct of civil defence courses and training throughout the Regions. Experience in preparation of training programmes and ability to instruct is essential. Some travelling and week-end duty will be involved. Travelling ’expenses and allowances will be paid. 2453 DEPARTMENT OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS: A vacancy exists in the Dominion Museum, Wellington, for an Assistant Zoologist. The duties are to assist in the care and development of invertebrate collections, mainly marine, and to undertake some research.
