Overseas Post For Airline Manager
Mr A. T. Gillmore, Christchurch district manager for Air New Zealand, has been appointed manager of the airline in North America. He will take np his appointment in Los Angeles early in August.
The new district manager for Christchurch will be Mr H. K. Ford, who has been manager for North America since he opened the office there in 1962. Mr Gillmore Joined the Air New Zealand sales and traffic department in 1949, and became booking officer in Wellington in 1950. In 1951 he be-
came assistant to the head office traffic manager, and in the next year he was transferred to Christchurch as sales and traffic superintendent. He was appointed agency relations officer in Auckland in 1956 and representative in Nandi from 1958 to 1960. On returning to New Zealand he first became sales manager
In Wellington and then district manager in Christchurch. He was a member of the New Zealand trade mission to Asia in 1965. Mr Ford has been with Air New Zealand for 25 years and most of his service has been overseas. He was North American manager during the airlines route expansion and he opened the Sydney office. Mr F. G. Hill, who held the Christchurch appointment before Mr Gillmore, and has been the Auckland district manager since, has become regional manager for New Zealand His territory includes Norfolk Island and New Caledonia. The post of manager of the Australian and Orient services has been filled by Mr J. B. Wisdom, at present Pacific Islands manager. Mr N. H. Barker, the airline s assistant commercial manager in Auckland has been appointed manager for the Pacific Islands and North America.
