PALMERSTON NOBTH. Facade and Kurrajcmg, two solid Jumpers whose winter campaigns are expected to culminate with starts at the Grand National meeting at Riccarton, worked impressively at Woodville yesterday for immediate engagements at the Manawatu whiter meeting. Their form leaves something to be desired but both have improved considerably and either could surprise at Awapuni. Facade, which wiM contest the Manawatu Steeplechase, cleared two brush fences impressively, and then ran six furlongs In imin 25 4-ssec. the final three
in 43 3-s«ec. H* could have run faster.
Kurrajong drifted behind Salen early in their trial, but ranged up to his atablemate in the straight to complete six furlongs in Imin 25 3-ssec, the last three in 43 3-ssec. It was good work for the gelding, which wMC contest the Awapuni Hur l es. Supreme Courage, which w®l have bts first start over jumps in the Ngata Hurdles, ran a mile soMdly the reverse way. He soon worked dear of Dowdex and continued to complete his first seven furlongs in Imin 38Jsec, the six in Imin 22 3-ssec and three hi tajsec.
Koltiata was one of the few flat horses to sprint. Hi* halfmile with Rahpete took 54sec, the three in 49sec. Avelyn, working easily, ran six furlongs, taking 56 4-ssec for the last half.
