Eight Hurt On Roads
Mrs I. V. Hart, of 167 Keyes road, suffered head injuries in a collision between two cars at the corner of Warden street and Slater street about 5.35 p.m. yesterday. She was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital, where her condition was reported to be fairly satisfactory. Mrs A. Sheppard, of 42 Massey crescent, suffered head and chest injuries in a collision between two cars on the corner of Armagh and Madras
streets about 3.50 p.m. She was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital. Her condition was reported to be satisfactory. Head Injuries were suffered by Mr D. C. Glasson, of 27 Hewlings street, when the car he was in hit a pole .outside 120 Quinns road about 8.15 a.m. He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital, where his condition was satisfactory. Miss Robyn Smith, of 6 Karomu street, suffered minor abrasions and shock in a collision between a motor-scooter and a van outside 127 Pages road about 5.15 p.m. Peter Garland suffered minor leg injuries in a collision between a car and a motor-scooter at the comer of Tuam street and Montreal street early in the morning. Mr R. T. Tibbots, of 53 Studholme street, also suffered minor leg injuries in a collision between a motor-cycle and a car at the comer of Barbadoes street and Ferry road.
The two persons injured when a ear hit a tree in fog and plunged into the Avon river near Torlesse street in Avonside drive about 11 p.m. on Monday, are Mr J. O’Leary, of 187 Burwood road, and Mr N. Drummond, of 281 Fitzgerald avenue. Both were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Mr Drummond’s condition last evening was fairly satisfactory and Mr O’Leary’s was satisfactory.
