Oamaru Earthquake
Sir, —On Thursday, June 9, at 8.30 p.m. Oamaru was shaken by a short, “explosive” type of earthquake which appears to have been purely local. I would be grateful if any of your readers who may have felt this earthquake, especially in South Canterbury, would communicate with me.—Yours, etc., J. A. CHISMAN, 15 Sandringham street, Oamaru, June 11, 1966.
