High School Sites

Sir,—May I ask why the Breens road site for a school is not favoured? If another school is sited next to Burnside, all those children to the north-east will travel in a southerly direction to school. Sou’-westers are usually cold, strong and wet, it is no use planning to have the kids cold and wet for school. A site more to the north-east would be more central for the area it serves. Whatever site is chosen the other will be redundant, as both sites are in residential areas. The Memorial avenue area is more valuable than Breens road. The former, if cold, would be of great financial benefit to the Secondary Schools’ Council and taxpayers.—Yours, etc., INTERESTED. June 10, 1966.
