A fattening, cropping, and small seeds holding of 243 acres one rood 36 perches freehold and 11 acres leasehold at Amberley was sold for £38,171 at public auction last week. The property was offered for Mr W. I. C. Streeter by Pyne, Gould, Guinness Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr W. H. Archdall. Improvements on the property include a three-bed-roomed bungalow, two steel haybarns, motor shed, implement shed, granary, woolshed, dairy, and fowlhouse. The opening bid was £llO an acre. There were three bids of £lO, one of £5, one of £2 10s, two of £l, and one of 10s. Mr J. H. Cooke's fattening
property of 783 acres 8 perches at Te Pirita was passed in at £4O *n acre. The sale was held by the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand. Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr N. K. Aitken.
The property is in two units. The homestead block of 455 acres two roods 25 perches is Crown renewable lease, the yearly rental being £5O 7s. The remaining 327 acres one rood 21 perches Is Crown lease in perpetuity. The yearly rental is £4O 18s
