Trade Mission To America

CN.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 16. A party of 18 manufacturers leave Auckland by air tomorrow morning on a trade mission which will take them throughout the eastern United States and Vancouver. The mission will be led by Mr H. W. B. Patterson, president of the Wellington Manufacturers' Association. An Aucklander, Mr L. G. Piper, is deputy-leader. The mission, which will be away for a month, comprises representatives from the wine industry, the leather trade, meat and forest product industries. A jewellery manufacturer and a Rotorua businessman with woodware and souvenirs to sell are also included. It is the second mission this year to be sponsored by the Manufacturers’ Federation. The first recently returned from South-east Asia.
