Slow Times At Levin
“The Press” Special Service LEVIN.
An extremely heavy track at Levin yesterday morning made times somewhat unbelievable and few horses worked fast enough to warrant the watch on them. Of those which did go fast in the wet conditions, Mukupai and Gave All took the eye. Mukupai (K, A. Aitken), which will race at the Woodville District Jockey Club’s meeting at Awapuni on Saturday, went well under the conditions, to cover six furlongs in Imin 21 4-ssec, the final three in 41 3-ssec. Mukupai has shown a preference for soft going in the past. Gave All (K. A. Aitken), which will race at Woodville if a suitable rider can be found, seemed to be enjoying every bit of his work over half a mile in 53sec, the final three furlongs in 41|sec.
