(From Our Own Reporter i WESTPORT, April 11.

Only one road accident was reported at Westport during Easter up to last night. On Saturday night a Westport woman, Mrs M. Walsh, aged 65, suffered injuries when struck by a car in Brougham street. Buller Hospital reports her condition as [satisfactory. In spite of the bad weather early, there was record traffic on Buller road. The Transport Department’s officer (Mr H. A. Loper) said that at no other Easter or Christmas holiday had there been so many vehicles on the roads, most of them passing through Westport. On Sunday, when a gala was held on Kawatiri airport, three miles from Westport, 3150 crossings were made over the Buller bridge, by at least 1000 vehicles.
