Cliveden Stud To Be Sold

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON. The late Viscount Astor’s bloodstock will be sold for death duty reasons. Some 70 horses are involved, and they are now being valued for probate. Lord Aistor died early last month. The Cliveden Stud, which he inherited from his father in 1950, is among the most select in England. Founded in 1906, it houses 19 brood mares from the best bloodlines, including the Oaks winner, Ambiguity. Its yearlings and foals are all by high-class staiKdon®. Twenty-six horses in training included last year's Irish St. Leger winner, Craighouse.
