The Minister of Lands (Mr Gerard) said today he had conferred with the National Parks Authority about the Lands and Agriculture Select Committee's recommenda-; tions. “It has been agreed to post-; pone the implementation of. the noxious animals control plan until June 30 to allow an opportunity for the commit-I tee’s report to be debated in! I Parliament.” he said. I In the meantime no permits to shoot in the wapiti . area will be issued. The wapiti area would bei closed to all shooters after j Easter Monday, but shooting would be available in other j areas of Fiordland.
