N.Z. POTTERY FOR EUROPE
Selection Of Chch. Work A Christchurch man has been chosen to be one of the nine potters whose work will be given by the New Zealand Society of Potters to the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, Italy, and the International Academy of Ceramics in Geneva. He is Mr David Brokenshire, whose work will be represented by a coil pot with an incised decoration. The selection of pottery will be on permanent exhibition in the respective museums, in an attempt to represent New Zealand pottery in Europe. The New Zealand Society of Potters was established by practising potters to encourage the craft in New Zealand, to develop an appreciation of ceramics, and to promote and maintain an association with potters overseas. The work the society has chosen, was purchased at the ninth New Zealand potters’ exhibition held in Auckland last year, and is considered to be of a very high standard and representative of the work being done in New Zealand.
