CHEVROLETS RECALLED

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) DETROIT.

About 1,500,000 Chevrolet cars are being recalled for slight mechanical adjustments because a few cars’ accelerators became stuck during cold weather. The models involved are the 1964-65 Chevelles and the 1965 Chevrolets with powerglide transmissions. General Motors will install free, a splash shield to prevent slush from packing around the throttle linkage. A General Motors official said he knew of “No personal injuries resulting from the fewer than half-a-dozen cases” where snow or slush had caused the throttle to stick. An unofficial estimate put the total cost of the adjustment at about three million dollars.
