APPEAL FAILS
Cyclist’s Claim For £912 An appeal against a magistrate’s decision not to award damages for injuries suffered by a cyclist in a road accident in Christchurch was dismissed by Mr Justice Wilson in the Supreme Court yesterday. Cyril Albert George Simmonds, a workshops manager (Mr G. R. Lascelles), sought damages of £912 from Frank Gair, a lecturer (Mr R. A. Young), for personal injuries and loss on the ground of Gait’s alleged negligence. Simmonds had been riding a bicycle and Gair driving a car when the two collided at the intersection of Oxford terrace and Montreal street on June 13, 1964.
