Labour Party Policy
Sir, —There is no such thing today as private enterprise. and “F.W.P.F.” must realise this. All the tinned fruit is under one huge monopoly, also tinned vegetables; all the soap and everything
pertaining to cleaning. The great beer monopoly is well known. Beer is controlled by a huge monopoly. We have no choice, not even in a milkman. Let “F.W.P.F.” explain where we have freedom of choice. —Yours, etc., R. DAVIS. March 21, 1966.
Sir, Private enterprise under either majority runs the country with the money it is allowed to produce in taxes. Fitness to rule now depends on the ability to produce Ministers of prime quality. Labour, unlike National, has had to relinquish ideals and try to rehash socialism. This, over a period of 30 years, has led from uncertainty to incapability. You are more likely to find men well adjusted for running the country in the Nationalist Party. Even in Russia socialism fell flat on its face.— Yours, etc., LEARN AND LIVE. March 22, 1966.
