WOOLSTON FAIR

Baths Fund To Benefit

A monster fair to be held in Woolston Park on Saturday to raise money for the proposed Woolston baths will feature a “Miss Woolston” bathing beauty parade. More than 20 local organisations under the auspices of the Woolston District Improvement Association will take part in the fair. Half of the proceeds will go to the baths and half will be distributed among local organisations. Plans include 40 stalls to be set around the perimeter of the park leaving the centre for entertainment. Also to be featured is a sulky race by six local businessmen who will be pulled by volunteers. A treasure chest competition will also be held. Five keys will be hidden and clues will be announced during the afternoon. The holder of the winning key will be able to open the chest. Displays by marching girls, gymnasts, judo experts and ambulance demonstrations will also be attractions.
