A review of his latest recording in the January edition of High Fidelity stated: "The violinist's strong impassioned intellectualism brings to mini, the playing of Joseph Szlgeti in his best years.”
KYND6 QUARTET Founded in 1941, this will be the first Scandinavian Quartet to visit New Zealand in recent years. The Quartet has been enthusiastically received throughout Europe, and, in the course of its tour, will introduce a number of Swedish compositions. JUILLIARD QUARTET Quartet-ln-Residence at the Library of Congress, this American Quartet is today accepted as one of the finest in existence. Only seven concerts will be given In New Zealand, and we are fortunate to be able to present one in Christchurch. VIENNA TRIO Prise winner in the 10th International Music Competition of the German Broadcasting Stations, this Austrian Trio will give two concerts in Christchurch. The “London Times" wrote of the group’s debut in 1964: “One does not hear such outstanding Chamber Music playing every day.” AMADEUS QUARTET A long-awaited return visit of this most famous English Quartet. Those who did not hear the Quartet on its previous visit will be familiar with its many superb recordings. Founded in 1959, the New Zealand Chamber Music Federation is one of the World’s leading promoters of Chamber Music concerts. Over the years it has brought to New Zealand most leading groups, including the Budapest and Hungarian Quartets, the Trio di Trieste, Solomon, Gerard Souzay, Leon Goossens and Ruggiero Rtcci. Applications are now being received for this year’s subscription series.
