Best Indoor 1500 Metres

Michel Jazy, France’s world record-holder for the mile, beat the world best indoor performance over 1500 metres, clocking 3min 40.7 sec at Lyons on Sunday. Jazy’s performance was made during a France-West Germany indoor athletics match. The previous world best performance for the 1500 metres was 3min 41.9 sec by Jurgen May, of East Germany.
