BACTERIAL BLIGHT.—This aerial photograph shows the spread of bacterial blight in field peas. The cloud-like patches are sites of infection. The incidence of the disease in Canterbury this season was discussed on these pages recently. The disease spreads in cold, wet, windy weather, principally in rain droplets. His picture shows how the disease has spread from south to north, under the influence of southerly winds, from the initial points bf infection.
