PARTRIDGES RELEASED

Between February and April 991 partridges were released at Darfield, according to the annual report of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society. Another 108 birds were retained as stock birds. Originally, 2000 eggs were collected in December from which 1639 chicks were hatched. In addition to the liberated birds, 47 stock birds from the previous season were released at Amberley.
