BURNSIDE HIGH

Roll Remains Stable There would be approximately the same number of pupils at Burnside High School next year as in 1965. said the headmaster of Burnside High School (Mr C. Cross), in his report to the school’s board. Mr Cross said that he could predict figures accurately for the third and fourth forms, but in the fifth and sixth forms, the number in classes depended to a large extent on the results of the school certificate and university entrance examinations. A roll of 1024 is expected next year, compared with 1012 this year, and the increase is no more than 10 in any of the forms. The board confirmed appointments of six teachers to the school. They are Mr B. Chadderton (Ashburton College); Miss M. Scott (Wairarapa College); Mrs M. Byers (Feilding High School).
