Bandung Prevails...

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) HONG KONG, Nov. 3. China last night expressed satisfaction with the decision of the Afro-Asian Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Algiers to postpone the summ i t conference which had been scheduled for November 5.

New China News Agency said the decision showed that

the Bandung spirit prevailed once again after overcoming all obstacles. China, among other countries, boycotted what it called the “forcibly convened” Foreign Ministers’ meeting, claiming present con-

ditions were unfavourable. The agency also accused India of plotting against AfroAsian solidarity. “For a long time, the Indian Government had tried by every conceivable means to obstruct the holding of the second African-Asian conference,” it said.

“However, with the appearance of some complicated factors in Africa and Asia unfavourable to the bolding of the African-Asian conference, and some divergences among the African-Asian countries which could not be settled for the time being, the Indian Government suddenly changed its attitude and went pressing ahead for the convening of the conference as scheduled.”
