TIED that the Christchurch City Council at a Special Meeting held in the City Council Cham bors, 194 Manchester street. Christchurch, on Monday. Sep tember 27. 1965. passed the fol lowing resolution: • THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Municipal Corpora tions Act. 1954. and the Local Authorities Loans Act, 1956. and all amendments thereto and all other Acts (if any) it In that behalf enabling the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves to proceed to raise in New Zealand a loan to be known as the “Electricity Extension Loan. 1965, of an amount of Five Hundred Thousand Pounds (£500.000) for the purpose of extending the distribution system and elec trical reticulation of the Council’s Electricity Undertaking subject to the following determinations: “(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be ten years. “(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding five and one-quarter per cent per annum. “(3) The said loan or any part thereof together with interest thereon shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual or half yearly instalments ex fending over the term as determined in Clause (1) hereof. “(4) The payment of all such instalments shall be made in New Zealand and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan money. “(5) The rate payable for brokerage In respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof shall not exceed one half per cent of any amount raised. “(6) No money shall be bor rowed after the expiration of three years from the date of the sanction of the Local Authorities Loans Board. “(7) That the security for the repayment of the said loan and the charges thereon shall be a special rate of Six Hundred and Fifty-one Two Thousand Five Hundredths of a Penny (651/2500d) in the pound (.001085) on the rateable value (on the basis of unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised with in the City of Christchurch.” Pursuant to the Local Author! ties Loans Act. 1956, IT IS HERE BY PUBLICLY NOTIFIED that the foregoing resolution will be sub mitted to a Special Meeting of the Christchurch City Council to be held in the City Council Chambers, situate as aforesaid at 5 p.m on Monday, Sth day of .November, 1965, for confirmation as a Special Order. IT IS HEREBY FURTHER PUB LICLY NOTIFIED that a poll of ratepayers is required to be taken If five per cent of the ratepayers of the City of Christ church so demand, by writing under their hands, delivered or sent by post to the under signed, before the date fixed for the confirmation of the resolu tion hereinbefore mentioned.
