Coppermine Dispute
(N. Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) SANTIAGO, Oct. 26. The Chilean Government was today contemplating strong measures io end a strike of 13,500 copperminers which is threatening to have serious economic effects. Sources close to the Ministeries of Labour and the Interior said the Government might take strong action under current emergency laws if an appeal for a return to work was ignored. The Minister of Mines (Mr Eduardo Simian) confirmed that the Government was studying ways of ending the strike, which it regards as illegal, but he would not say what measures might be taken.
