NEW AUSTRALIAN YACHT PLANNED FOR THE AMERICA’S CUP.—Mr Michael Reyne, executive officer of the Dame Pattie challenge syndicate, holding a model of the yacht, Dame Pattie, in his Melbourne office. The Dame Pattie syndicate is one of two which hopes to win the America’s Cup for Australia. The other is a syndicate backed mainly by the same people who supported the Gretel challenge in 1962. Both yachts should be completed by October next year, and in April, 1967, they will go to the United States. In July or August of that year the two yachts will race against each other to decide which will contest the America’s Cup.
