DIED AT FOOTBALL

Exciting Game At Melbourne (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Sept. 12. Three people collapsed and died at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday during the Australian Rules second semi-final. It was the most exciting final-round match for years. Two other spectators were taken to hospital and dozens were treated for nervous exhaustion. A crowd of 98,395 packed the ground to see St. Kilda beat Collingwood by one point. The final scores were: St. Kilda 13 goals, 24 behinds (102 points), Collingwood 14 goals, 17 behinds (101 points). (A goal counts as six points and a. behind one point.)

The result was in doubt until the final siren after the lead had changed several times.

Experts said after the game that it was the most exciting they had seen, both from the standard of play and the closeness of the scores.
