WAIRARAPA RIDING

“Take-Over By Jaycees*’ “I feel like defending the riding against the take-over bid by the Jayoees,” said Mr F. S. Blogg, when he announced yesterday that he would be a candidate for the Wairarapa riding of the Wataiairi County Council at the elections on October 9. Mr Blogg, until recently one of the principals in a contracting firm, was for three years president of the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Road Transport Alliance, and for four years vice-president of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand General Contractors’ Federation. He will contest the riding seat with the sitting member, Cr. C. B. Baker, and Mr R. J. Lawrence, one of the nine Papanui-Belfast Jaycee members who are standing for the council.
