N.Z. Shares Steady At Start Of Week
New Zealand share prices were steady at the start of the week’s trading with rises just balancing falls. There were again more falls than rises by overseas issues.
Further gains were made by Dominion Breweries, up Id at 17s lid, Tui notes, up 6d to 6s 6d, South British, up 3d to 29s 9d, Bell Radio, up 3d to 34s 9d, and United Empire Box, up Id to 12s 6d. Rights again eased with losses by Taupo Totara, C.P.D., Fletcher and Sanford. A.N.Z. Bank, Ampol 1967 notes, Cox Brothers and G. J. Coles were the only overseas stocks to advance. A.C.1., David Jones and Mount Isa lost ground again.
