PERTH, September 13.

A Greek-owned motor vessel, the 2848-ton Tanais, of Piraeus, ran aground on a reef five miles off the West Australian coast, 45 miles north of Perth, early today.

The master of the vessel radioed that the engine room was flooded and he required urgent assistance.
