Winners Get Prizes
South Island prize winners in the Wattle’s “Happy Mother and Baby" photograph contest were presented with their prizes by Mr J. Wattie, yesterday.
M"s Anne Standeven’s daughter Nicola, who was placed first,, was awarded a £750 fully paid insurance policy which will mature when she is 18. Mrs Standeven also received baby food, a silver spoon engraved with the baby’s name, and a camera. Mrs Luisa Gower’s daughter Jeanette, who was placed third, received a deposit of £5O in a savings bank as well as baby food, an engraved spoon and a camera. Other prize winners who received baby food, an engraved spoon and a camera were:—Mrs Holmes and son David, Mrs McClymont and son Peter, Mrs Bozie and daughter Tania, and Mrs Richards and son Peter.
Mr Wattie also presented cheques of £25 to the Inangahua Junction branch of the Plunket Society, £lO to the Ashburton branch, and £5OO to Mrs H. J. Ryburn, Dominion president, for the Plunket Society.
