N.Z. TROOPS ON VIETNAM

Presbytery’s Support (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 14. The South Auckland Presbytery supports the action of the Government in sending troops to Vietnam and has toid the Prime Minister, Mr Holyoake. The massage states: “This presbytery, while deeply regretting the necessity to send New Zealand troops to Vietnam, supports and encourages the Prime Minister in this and all other ways he opposes the threat and spread of communism from Asia.” The Presbytery was asked to support the action of the International Relations Committee of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church In opposing the sending of New Zealand forces to Vietnam, but this was rejected in favour of support for the Government.
