TWO FINED AT KUROW

“The Press" Special Service OAMARU. K. D. Murray, the driver of Singing Lad, was fined £l5 for careless driving which caused interference in the Waitaki Handicap, at the Kurow meeting on Saturday. Singing Lad squeezed up Rangipo which in turn squeezed up Monaco Lady, causing this mare to break. A. W. Cox. the driver of Native Tryax in the Omarama Handicap, was lined £l5 for careless driving causing interference. It was found that Native Tryax went for a gap when there was insufficient clearance. Cox was also severely reprimanded for excessive use of the whip. The connexions of Gay Gordon, which failed to leave the mark when the barrier was released in the Kurow Cup, were warned to improve this horse’s racing manners.
