Hold-Up In Gliding
(N.Z. Preaa Assn.—Copyright) SOUTH CERNE (Gloucester). May 30. Bad weather prevent competition when the 1965 world gliding championships were due to begin on Saturday, Associated press reported. Competitors from 29 nations, including Australia and New Zealand, stood shivering beside their gliders as the Minister of Aviation (Mr Roy Jenkins) opened the two-week championships. ... . The championships will be divided into open and standard classes. The open, with 42 entries, features the most expensive sail planes of high performance. The standard is restricted to gliders of not more than 15 metres span.
