B. Forsyth Wins Handicap Race B. Forsyth won the Christehurch Cycling Club s 16-mile handicap race on Saturdav on a block course at Hals’well. Back-marker J. Blackmun took fastest time. He and his eo-marker. B. Yaxley, rode very •trongly and gained time on the scratch men. Blackmun left Yaxley and made a very determined effort to catch the leaders but could not do so on his own. Forsyth was chased hard by T. Chapman and J. Williams, off the six-minute mark, but Forsyth had a little in reserve and managed to hold them off to gain the decision by four seconds from Chapman with Williams a similar distance back In third place. Results:—B. Forsvth <9min) 44.95ec, 1; F. Chapman <6min) <l.lSsec, 2; J. Williams (6min) 41.17, 3. Fastest time: J. Blackmun <4min) 29.10.
