Brackenfield Hunt Dance

The Brackenfield Hunt held a dinner-dance at the Brevet Club on Saturday evening, attended by more than 200 members and friends. They were received by the master of the hunt (Mr Angus Macdonald) and Mrs Macdonald, who were host and hostess. The clubroom was gaily decorated with hand-painted cut-outs of hunting scenes. Violets, the hunt’s emblem, were featured in the floral decorations. All the men present were given a buttonhole of violets. Guests of honour included the following: The master of the Christchurch Hunt (Mr D. C. Gould) and Mrs Gould; the master of the South Canterbury Hunt (Mr Ernest Kerr) and Mrs Kerr; the master of the Starborough Hunt (Mr L. J. McLaughlin) and Mrs McLaughlin; and the master of the Waimate Hunt (Mr J. C. Studholme) and Mrs Studholme. Members of the organising committee were Mesdames Angus Macdonald, lan Macdonald and P. Christie.
