Bruce Crampton, of Australia, gained a two-stroke lead in the third round of the 87,200-dollar Speedway Festival open golf tournament on Saturday. The 29-year-old Sydney golfer, bidding to become the first nlayer on the United States professional circuit to win three tournaments this season, shot a four-under-par 67 in the third round. His 54-hole total of 205 gave him a two-stroke lead over Dan Sikes, Miller Barber and Lionel Hebert, all of the United States. Tied with G. Player (South Africa) at 218 was the New Zealander, R. J. Charles, who turned in his poorest round of the tournament, X 74, in the third round.
