Indians Climb Everest Again
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) NEW DELHI, May 30. Two members of the Indian expedition which yesterday became the first group to climb Mount Everest four times are nephews of Sherpa Tensing Norkay. Sherpa Tensing and New Zealander Sir Edmund Hillary became the first men to conquer the world’s highest mountain on May 29, 1953 just 12 years ago. Tensing’s nephews are Ang Kami and Nawang Gombu — the latter being the only man to climb the 29,028 ft mountain twice. Nawang Gombu first made an ascent with James Whittaker of the 1963 American expedition, which climbed the mountain three times. Nine members of the expedition have now set foot on Everest’s summit.
