West Melton School
Sir,—The residents of West Melton are up in arms at the prospect of losing their head teacher. Apparently both' head and assistant teachers were receiving the same sal-i ary, so the Department of Education is trjdng to cover up this blunder on their part by upgrading the position of head teacher. The result is a grave injustice to Mr Jennings, and the children of j West Melton School are to lose a very popular and efficient head teacher- This action could also lead to trouble in other schools. To whom may we turn for help?—Yours, etc., ANXIOUS PARENT. April 29. 1965. [The secretary-manager of the Canterbury Education Board, Mr W. P. Spencer, said that as the school committee had referred the matter to the Minister of Education, he had no comment to make.l
