Collusion With China Denied

(N.Z.P.A.- Reuter —Copyright? LONDON, May 3. The Pakistan Foreign Minister (Mr Z. A. Bhutto) said today that China was not involved in the India-Pakistan conflict over the disputed Rann of Kutch territory.

Asked about Indian allegations that collusion between China and Pakistan had sparked the conflict, he said: “This is sheer propaganda . . . China has nothing to do with the Rann of Kutch.” Mr Bhutoo, who arrived in London today from Paris to attend today’s opening of the South-east Asian Treaty Organisation conference added the dispute could be settled “provided there is a will on the part of India." On the possibility of the conflict breaking out in other border areas, he said “Indian

leaders have threatened to retaliate in other parts . . . (but) we are prepared to meet any challenge.” Asked why his country and India were fighting over the barren land in the Rann of Kutch, he replied: “It is our territory and whether barren or not it is sacred and valuable and we have to defend it.”
