U.N. Force Supported

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 3. The conflict in South Vietnam would never be settled by military action, the New Zealand Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants said in Wellington today. The society’s biennial conference resolved to call upon the Government to work towards a peaceful settlement within the Commonwealth and through the United Nations. In the meantime, a United Nations peace force should be used to keep order in Vietnam, the conference suggested.

Considering it in New Zealand’s best interests, the conference reaffirmed support for the recognition of the Government of mainland China and for China’s admittance to the United Nations.
