R.S.A. Gives £500 To Fund

fttew Zealand Frees Association) WELLINGTON, February 3. A donation of £5OO to the Winston Churchill Memorial Fund was made tonight by the New Zealand Returned Services Association.

The donation was authorised by the association's Dominion executive committee.

The Dominion president (Mr H. Mitchell), who made the announcement, recalled that Sir Winston Churchill was the holder of the gold badge of the association with honorary life membership.

In a letter to Lady Churchill the association said: “Throughout New Zealand members of the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association have taken part in our nation’s tribute to Sir Winston, deeply conscious of his magnificent life of service to the British Commonwealth and the world.

“May we now express to you this special tribute from the ex-servicemen and women of New Zealand who heard his voice and answered his call to a stern duty and highest endeavour on the sea, the land, and in the air”. The Dominion executive committee further commended to its member associations throughout the country that the fund receive their wholehearted support.
