Claim By Naessens

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) MONTREAL, February 3. The self-taught French biochemist, Mr Gaston Naessens (right), has lodged a suit claiming 50,000 dollars damages from a restaurant owner for defamation. He says the man, Mr Rene Guynemer, whose son died after being treated with a controversial anti-leukemia serum developed by him, made certain remarks in an interview with a French reporter in Paris. Mr Guynemer already has filed suit against Naessens in France for 100,000 francs alleging that Naessens abused his confidence by promising he could save the boy with a vaccine. Mr Guynemer’s son, Rene, aged three, died in July last year after Naessens

had been brought to Canada from France in a final effort to save the child.
