STUDENTS OF STRINGS

Master Classes Arranged Master classes for advanced students of the violin, viola, and ’cello will be given from January 29 to February 25 by the Berkshire Quartet of the University of Indiana. The quartet is Urico Rossi and Albert Lazan, both professors of violin, David P. Dawson, professor of viola, and Fritz Magg, professor of ’cello. Sixteen pupils, mainly from the North Island, have been selected to attend the course which will cover the theory and practice of their instruments. They are.—Violins: Rosemary Rushbrook, Stanley Bolton, Joyce Collins, Michele Brunsden (Auckland), Christine Harris (New Plymouth), Katheryn Evans, Marjory Dumbleton, and David Williams (Christchurch). Violas: Clace Schwade (Marton), Maria Strunatch (Dunedin), Ken Hoy (Wellington). ’Cellos: Mary Williams. Robert Davis (Auckland), Felicity Kerr (Wellington), Russell Davis, and Brian Sandle (Christchurch).
