Champions Sailing

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Dec. 29. Great interest is being taken here in the form of New Zealand’s Olympic yachting champions, H. O. L. Pedersen and E. L. Wells, and their craft Pandora. The two men, who won the gold medal in the Flying Dutchman class at the Tokyo Olympics, are in Melbourne to compete in the interDominion Flying Dutchman championship.

There is a total of 12 New Zealand entries in the competition, nine of them official and three travelling at their own expense. The three qualifying races in the contest will be sailed ■today, tomorrow and Thursday, with the championships proper starting on January 3 and ending on January 8. The races, being sailed on Port Philip Bay, will start each day at 4.30 p.m., New Zealand time.
