RECOVERY BY TEKAU

Interim Profit Higher Consolidated profit before taxation of Tekau Knitwear, Ltd., Timaru, recovered to £31,135 in the six months to November 19, directors advise. Last year’s total profit before taxation was £18,993. Profit for Tekau Knitwear, Ltd., the parent company, was £37,577 but this was reduced by a loss of £6442 by Bruce Hosiery and Knitwear (1963), Ltd. “Indications are that the result for the second half-year should equal that of the first half,” say directors. Dividend Payment Consideration of payment of dividend will be deferred until after the end of the financial year, directors have decided. Arrangements have been completed with French Knitwear Pty., Ltd., Sydney, giving Tekau sole rights for the New Zealand manufacture of single stretch, otherwise known as living stretch, fabric. Directors say that this fabric is in great demand in other countries for the manufacture of sportswear, frocks, suits and other similar garments.
